With a hand-picked selection of bump-friendly pieces from brands such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Maje, Sandro, Joseph, Mary Katrantzou and Valentino NINE IN THE MIRROR makes styling the bump a lot easier, so at 9 months pregnant I teamed up with the number one shopping destination for expectant women and new moms for a coats story featuring four autumn-stars; the parka, the baseball jacket, the trenchcoat and the cocoon coat.
Imagine having carried around a big bump that made even the most simple everyday things such as tying your shoes (the ones that I could still fit into) almost impossible, and then from one day to another it is (almost) gone. I can’t wait to rediscover my wardrobe and all the pieces that have been stored for months, but even more to start shopping for the old (or is it new?) me again.
So here we go. My first post pregnancy outfit wearing new favourite pants by T by Alexander Wang (to all the preggers out there – they are bump-friendly) and a sweater by & Other Stories that I have been longing for ever since I saw it in the Paris showroom back in February. Dressing comfortable is everything these days where I’m slowly adjusting to my new life as a mommy. No silky tops, no tight dresses and most definitely no heels. Maybe next month…
I finally reached my due date but there’s still no sign of the baby. Trying to be patient, but trust me, at this stage it’s not that easy. I really can’t wait to meet the little man!
Anyhow, this is what I was wearing yesterday when heading to a meeting followed by yet another appointment at the mid-wife (hopefully the last one). The dress has become one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe and when layered with a cropped top or sweater it can easily be used all year round. The only piece you haven’t seen before is the clutch, also by Baum und Pferdgarten, which I think has delivered one of the best collections this season. I honestly want everything and this clutch knows how to make your outfit stand out whether worn day or night.
I don’t think I’ve showed you this dress before, which is actually a bit surprising as I’ve been living in it all summer. And admitted, summer seemed like a distant memory today as I stepped outside. It was freezing. And of course bare legs didn’t help much… but you know how I feel about stockings. Though in this case it would for sure remove some of the focus from my super pale legs. Ouch. Anyhow, I’m now back inside enjoying a cup of hot chocolate.
However let’s not talk about what happened to summer but about the boots, which some of you may remember them from this post. They finally hit stores and I was happy to see that that colour in fact was a bit more grey then beige, and therefore more wearable according to me and my wardrobe. Plus they are comfortable, which is never a bad thing.
With only another week and a half till the baby is due, the waiting game has now started. I try not to stress but suddenly there’s so many things I want to get done before he arrives. Like looking through and arrange everything in the flat, from paperwork to furniture, flowers and even old pictures. And then there’s all the baby stuff… We’re still waiting for the stroller, the cot, the nursing table etc to arrive, so while the baby might be ready to come out, I’m not. However, I’m sure it’ll all work out the day he decides to meet the world, and getting things in the flat organised will probably be the last thing on my mind.
Since I didn’t get to take a proper picture of what I was wearing when celebrating my birthday the other day I put it all back on this morning – plus a pair of sunglasses now that the sun was shining. I love that the weather still allows bare legs as I’m not the biggest fan of stockings. The longer I can avoid wearing them, the better.
Now, lunchtime! And make sure to check back in tomorrow where I have a little giveaway for you…
